22-08-2013 Thursday - Fairbanks to Denali National Park

Today we did a short drive from Fairbanks to Denali National Park.

Started out overcast.

Yukon river.

One of the Tripods used to determine the time of break up of the ice in the Nenana River. It needs to move 10 feet to stop the clock. This is one of
the only times that betting is allowed in Alaska, betting on the Day time & minute that the tripod will trip the clock.

The Nenana Valley Visitors Centre.

The snack stop.

Nice scenery.

We caught the 2pm dog sled demonstration done by Ranger Alyssa - very interesting (dog sledding is a big thing in Alaska!)

Started to drizzle.

Steven made some new four legged friends :P

Denali Grizzly Bear Resort for 2 nights.
