09-08-02013 Friday - Prince Rupert

Free day - we went for a walk to Cow Bay.

Pacific Inn - where we are staying, quite a few of the buildings had lovely painted murals - Had dinner in Theaann's Greek Palace on site & enjoyed the meals.

Javadotcup occupies a building built for the Bank of Montreal ca. 1910.

We changed some Canada $ for US $ as we will need the cash on the ferry for tomorrow.

City Hall.  Friendly locals - one outside for a smoko suggested we could go in and look at the old photos inside of how the city used to be so we did.

A totem pole beside the City Hall.

Charles Melville Hays - founder of Prince Rupert.

Rotary Waterfront Park.

Kwinitsa - Railway museum at the waterfront.

Mother Grey whale & calf statue.

Steven had walked ahead and we ended up catching up with him back at the hotel - John is a bit slow, taking lots of photos (you only get to a see a minute glimpse of them all) - Dawn can browse in shops as John catches up.

Eagle Bluff -  B & B & Cafe at Cow Bay.

The marina.

Historic Cow Bay.

The Machine Shop.  Another beautiful mural.

A long house.

Pillsbury House - first private residence.

After our walk we headed back to the hotel then went next door to shop for lunch and snacks for the ferry.

Relaxing afternoon in the hotel room and then reasonably early dinner and off to bed early as we have a very early start tomorrow.
