18-07-2013 Thursday - The Wedding

Well this is it the 'big day' has finally arrived!

We started off the morning with a drive further up the road to Pender Harbour, Madeira Park.  Then it was back to Rockwater Resort at Halfmoon Bay.

Around midday the girls all got together to start getting ready, helping each other with hair and make-up to some background music beating away.  The boys were having individual time as they had to 'hurry up and wait'.

Finally it was time (2pm) to move down to the lovely secluded spot where the wedding was to take place. Johnnie the guitarist played some beautiful tunes and improvised depending on the moment.  As soon as the couple were married he played  "Here comes the sun".

Louise and David escorted Lindsay down the long walk to the wedding area.  The weather was absolutely beautiful and not too hot in the shade.

During the ceremony many were surprised as Andrew got emotional as he said his vows.  This also brought on a bit of giggling and many more happy tears from others - not just Dawn!

Andrew places the ring on Lindsay's finger.

Then Lindsay places the ring on Andrew's finger - tungsten carbide - strong, unbreakable, enduring - words to express their marriage as well.

I now pronounce you 'Man & Wife'.

You may kiss your bride !

The happy couple.

David and Dawn are the witnesses.

The two families joined together.

The view behind is off to where the 'tents' were and you can just see David & Louise's one near the water with Lindsay & Andrew's around the corner - secluded and private.

This view is in the other direction.

The beautiful couple then went off with the photographer to have some photos taken down near the water, on the rocks and fallen tree branches.  Hey Barry who does this remind you of?  That's enough photos now John!

The  couple joined us for drinks up near the pool deck and then we all went for a bit of a rest - apart from David who braved the ocean water which was pleasantly and unexpectedly warm.

Then it was back for dinner at 6pm.  The food was great and we were all happy and content and full! Here Lindsay & Andrew are cutting the special chocolate wedding cake. We enjoyed some - only just squeezing it in - and will polish off the rest tomorrow night when more family arrive for dinner.
